Repetition Is Underrated
It's What Got Us Here
Repetition Is Underrated
It’s a Bull Market.
We know that from risk-on metrics.
We know that from breadth.
We know that from sector positioning.
It might seem redundant at this point, but after a decade of studying markets, one lesson always comes back to me:
Once you have a solid foundation, you need to be reminded more than you need to be taught.
Yes, there are new lessons every day.
But the truths that build prosperity are usually the simple, foundational ones.
Repetition is underrated, while novelty is overly celebrated.
Scripture even speaks to this. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…” (Romans 12:2, ESV).
Human nature drifts. Left unchecked, we fall back into old ways.
The antidote? Constant renewal. Constant reminders. A process.
Everyone knows to save more than they spend. But unless you’re looking at the bank account or building a budget, it slips away.
Everyone knows to eat clean and exercise. But without a routine (a built-in reminder) it typically fades.
Markets are no different.
Building sound frameworks, refining them, and coming back to the foundations of what truly drive returns IS the secret sauce.
And to be honest, that’s why this week I don’t feel the need to throw out a novel study or some fancy math stat. I’ll share plenty of setups in The Sunday Stalk List.
The foundations already point to the reality: it’s a Bull Market.
Yes, it feels good for the ego to pull a random stat that confirms the trend, but it’s just not needed.
You can build a strong back with pull-ups.
You can build a strong investment process with the basics.
Anyone can place a good trade… once.
Anyone can stripe a golf ball straight… once.
Anyone can show up at the gym… once.
But professionals do daily what others do occasionally.
That’s the secret: consistency that leads to mastering the basics.
So here’s your reminder today: the market is at all-time highs, breadth is breaking out, and risk-on signals show appetite for stocks.
Think opportunistically.
Be patient with “warning signs” as they are often solved.
Look for bullish setups, and swing the bat.
Because while it’s tempting to veer off course, it wasn’t creativity or hype that got you here.
It was repetition. And repetition is the lifeblood of progress.
My Weekly Show - Thompson’s Two Cents
🎥 Thompson Two Cents Live
This week I break down the Achilles’ heel of the S&P 500.
Every strength has a weakness, and if you don’t know where the market is exposed, you don’t really understand it.
🚀 Throw it on 1.5x speed and let it rip.
👍 Give it a like. It’s the easiest way to show me some love.
